Boston Ambulance Hit by Audi During Patient Transport

Laurel J. Sweet

Oct. 07--A Boston ambulance was hit by an Audi about 8:30 a.m. this morning, resulting in minor injuries to two women in the car, authorities said.

The Audi hit the ambulance on its driver's side at a traffic light at Parker and Ruggles streets in Roxbury, EMS spokeswoman Jennifer Mehigan said. There were two women in the car and both were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries, she said.

Two EMS recruits and a field training officer who were in the ambulance transporting a patient were taken to Boston Medical Center "to get checked out," she said.

The Audi sustained major front-end damage.

A Boston police spokeswoman confirmed the accident but said no reports were available yet.
