EMSWorld.com News

A medical airplane crash Saturday in St. Maartan killed all four people aboard.

Among those killed were a doctor, a nurse, the pilot and a honeymooning cruise ship passenger, according to USA Today.

The Piper Cheyenne III plane was called to transport the patient with a heart condition to a specialty care center in Martinique.

It crashed four minutes after takeoff from L'Esperance Airport in St. Martin, the French territory that shares an island with St. Maarten.

Ironically, the plane that crashed was a replacement for one that was experiencing mechanical issues, authorities told reporters.
