Dec. 08--A Cleveland County man is accused of threatening to rape sheriff's deputies and paramedics last weekend.

Joel Lee Taylor, 42, of the 2200 block of County Line Road, Kings Mountain, used a vulgar term to describe a forcible sex act he would engage in with emergency medical services workers and deputies, according to a magistrate's order. He also allegedly threatened to beat the first responders during a Saturday confrontation on Goforth Road.

Taylor was also accused of attacking three people on Saturday and was charged with two counts of assault on a female and one count of simple assault. He faces an additional charge of disorderly conduct for the alleged threats.

A magistrate judge ordered Taylor jailed under a $12,500 secured bond.
