Edward Kontul, Perry Township Police Department, Chosen as Finalist in National Contest

READING, Pa., Oct. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Elbeco Incorporated, a manufacturer of uniforms for the police, fire, EMS, postal and security industries, is excited to announce that Edward Kontul, member of the Perry Township Police Department, is a finalist in its "Every Elbeco Uniform Tells a Story" Contest that honors those in uniform who made a significant impact on the job.

Kontul submitted his story of how he assisted an elderly gentleman who he stopped for a traffic violation. The man was driving around looking for the home of his wife's friend. As it turns out, the man was an Alzheimer's patient in a facility a few miles down the road. Kontul took the time to find out the true story behind this person's trek and reunited him with his frantic wife. Additional monthly finalists will be chosen by a panel of judges for October, November and December. From those 20 finalists, a judging panel will choose the Grand prize, second and third prize winners. The Grand Prize winner will receive $5,000 cash and a $1,500 retail credit for their department, the second prize winner receives $2,500 cash and a $1,000 retail credit for their department and the third prize winner receives $1,000 cash and a $500 retail credit for their department.
