EMS Heroes in New York

May 19, 2005 -- The city's Emergency Medical Service yesterday gave its highest honors to an EMT and a paramedic who risked their lives attempting to save New Yorkers.

At the FDNY EMS Medal Day yesterday, EMT Ronald Johnson was lauded for his efforts in January 2004 trying to save Jodie Lane, who was lying mortally injured on an electrified grating.

Paramedic Joseph Losquadro's heroics came last September, when he jumped into a collapsed trench in Brooklyn to clear a man's airway by inserting a breathing tube
