Three Injured When Truck Collides with Georgia EMS Vehicle

A wreck involving a Polk County EMS vehicle left two EMTs and a Rome man in need of medical treatment on June 27.
A Georgia State Patrol accident report states that Polk County EMS workers Bobby Dale Bates, 35, of Rockmart and Larry Cone, 60, of Cedartown, were traveling without a patient and were injured when a vehicle driven by Ryan Carter Unsworth of Rome collided with them on Ga. Hwy. 101 near the intersection of Mack Jones Road on Monday.
The report states that Unsworth, 25, was traveling north on Ga. Hwy. 101 in a 1992 Dodge Dakota pickup truck when he crossed the centerline, striking head-on the EMS vehicle that was traveling south at around 3:25 p.m.
