California City Raises 911 Response Fee, Offers Deal for Unlimited Calls
TRACY, Calif. --
It's going to cost Tracy residents more if they need to call emergency services.
After a long meeting on Tuesday, the Tracy City Council approved fees for people who call 911 for a medical emergency.
The fees include a $48 per year membership that allows Tracy residents to make an unlimited number of emergency calls. That fee would be $36 per year for low-income residents.
If the fire department or an ambulance responds, it will cost $300 for residents and $400 for non-residents.
A paramedic in an ambulance with a patient will cost $100. It will cost $180 if emergency workers respond to those who lock themselves out of their home or car.
