Colorado Stabbing Victim May Have Leg Amputated

DENVER --

A Colorado Springs man who was stabbed early Sunday morning may have to have his leg amputated.

reported the victim, George Hachmeister, 36, was stabbed at least twice at the Shannon Glen Apartments.

Police do not know exactly who stabbed Hachmeister. The attacker and other witnesses left the scene before officers arrived.

Hachmeister was taken to Memorial Hospital by ambulance, where he underwent surgery, police said. KRDO reported a major artery in his leg had been nicked in the stabbing.

Police said they don't have any suspect information.
