Volunteer Firefighter Sentenced for Fake 911 Calls
DENVER --
A volunteer firefighter who admitted making false 911 calls and then listening to authorities respond on her scanner will be going to jail.
7NEWS reported in December that Caryn Sodaro of Lochbuie used a pre-paid mobile phone to make up to 48 false calls.
According to court records, Sodaro told investigators that after she made phony suicide and ambulance calls, she listened to authorities' reactions on the police radio she was given as a volunteer firefighter in Hudson.
A judge sentenced Sodaro to two more weeks in jail in addition to the 75 days she's already served, three years on probation, 480 hours of public service and she must pay $11,237.40 in costs for the fake calls, according to the

The newspaper reported Sodaro was suspended from her volunteer duties at the Hudson Fire Department after her arrest. She had volunteered for roughly three years.
