JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --

It took 12 firefighters two hours to remove a man who weighs more than 800 pounds from his home Thursday.

Davien Summers was having unspecified medical issues in his home in the 3600 block of Lionell Street in Northwest Jacksonville, his roommate said.

He said firefighters had to dismantle a window and place Summers on a backboard and a special stretcher to get him into an ambulance.

Summers was in stable condition at Shands Jacksonville Medical Center.
