Firehouse Run Report 2019: The Country’s Busiest Departments and Ambulances

Courtesy of Firehouse Magazine, EMS World presents the 2018 Firehouse National Run Survey—a comprehensive report of fire company and department levels, funding, staffing, and pay for 184 fire departments that took part in this year’s survey. 

According to Firehouse, the departments represented in this latest survey protect nearly 77 million people and have budgets totaling more than $28 billion. They provide services with 3,320 engine companies, 1,236 ladder companies, 1,578 ambulances, and numerous specialized units. They responded to nearly 1.3 million fire calls, over 9.1 million EMS calls, and over 12 million total calls in 2018.
