The Next-Generation Extraglottic Device

There are many devices for managing a patient’s airway on the market, but none quite like the LMA Supreme, which combines the best features of all previous LMA airways into one device, creating a next-generation extraglottic. We’ve been using the Supremes for over 24 months throughout the Albuquerque area.”

Harrell says he’s seen over a 95% success rate across the department with the Supreme and has found it to be a very effective and safe device for prehospital airway management.

“Our providers have used the Supreme across the full spectrum of medical and trauma patients in our system,” he says. “I would, without hesitation, recommend the LMA Supreme to any EMS agency considering this device for purchase and system implementation. The Supreme has proven to be an effective airway management device in our system’s experience. And the availability of the full range of pediatric sizes adds a much needed alternative to direct laryngoscopy and intubation in pediatric patients, given the recent studies evaluating pediatric airway management and outcomes around the country.”
