Texas, Tampa and Tinseltown
This month I am pleased to announce that I will be attending the Texas EMS conference in Houston, TX, to present the winners of the Top 20 Product Picks from EMS EXPO 2007.
This will be the first time we have had a live presentation to the winning manufacturers and it seemed appropriate that we do it at the country's largest state EMS show. The presentation will be made on Monday, November 19, at 1 p.m. in the exhibit hall. Coverage of the event and the winning products will appear in the January issue of EMS Magazine and online at EMSResponder.com.
In September, I attended the Air Medical Transport Conference in Tampa, FL. This conference is unique in that the education efforts are geared toward both the clinical and aviation aspects of the community. Over 2,500 people attended 140+ educational sessions for program directors, nurses, paramedics, physicians, pilots, respiratory-care practitioners, communications specialists, mechanics, maintenance directors, operations directors, CEOs, CFO, hospital administrators, billing personnel, medical directors, aircraft manufacturers and aircraft operators.
The National Association of EMS Educators (NAEMSE) also met in September in Hollywood, CA, for their 12th annual symposium. Leading EMS educators from all hospital and prehospital disciplines came together to present information on a variety of educational topics. We are also pleased to announce that EMS Magazine has partnered with NAEMSE to offer a new Ask the Educator column (which debuted in the October issue), where readers are invited to submit questions on all aspects of EMS education that will be answered in print by a panel of experts.
