Longbranch Recovery Center to open in Louisiana

Healthcare entrepreneur Chris McMahon has announced plans to open Longbranch Recovery Center, a $10 million addiction treatment center in Abita Springs, La.

The facility will offer 30- and 90-day inpatient treatment programs at its main campus starting in December. Outpatient treatment will be available at a separate facility in Old Metairie called Longbranch Wellness, starting in November. Both programs will accept insurance.

The main campus sits on the site of the former Longbranch Hotel, and its main building, which includes 32 private beds, is a near-exact replica of the original hotel, which was destroyed in a fire in 1865. In a news release announcing the facility, Longbranch said its treatment model will focus on trauma counseling, dual diagnosis and community support.
