Coleman Data Solutions to hire 70 new full-time employees
Coleman Data Solutions located in Akron, Ohio, was recently awarded a five million dollar contract to provide document imaging services for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency through NISH and the U.S. AbilityOne Program. With this contract, they will be hiring an additional 14 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees from now through September and another 56 FTE’s by November. At least 75 percent of these new employees must be identified as disabled according to the contract. Particularly of interest to Coleman Data Solutions is hiring disabled veterans.
Nelson Burns, President and CEO of Coleman Professional Services said, “We are pleased to receive this very important contract. It acknowledges the excellent work produced by Data Solutions. As Coleman will be hiring more employees, especially those with disabilities, it fits with our goals of serving the needs of the community by focusing on recovery, employment and housing.”
Coleman Data Solutions offers personalized data and document management services to businesses and government entities. It is a social enterprise unit of the non-profit, Coleman Professional Services, headquartered in Kent, Ohio. Coleman has long supported the hiring of people with disabilities and a minimum of 80 percent of Coleman Data Solutions’ current workforce is disabled. They are looking to hire technicians with imaging, data entry, and mail room expertise.
According to the NISH website, “NISH is one of two national, nonprofit agencies designated by the U.S. AbilityOne Commission [a federal government agency] to support nonprofit agencies participating in the AbilityOne Program which provides employment opportunities for people who are blind or have other significant disabilities by procuring federal contracts for goods and services.”
