Objectives: To describe the evolution of venous leg ulcers (VLU) treated with a novel dual compression system* (DCS) and followed up in community.Methods: Clinical characteristics of patients with VLU for which DCS was prescribed are described. These patients were followed up by nurses using a secured electronic case record form on smartphones**.Results: 102 patients aged 75, (women 54.9%), were followed up. Leg ulcers were of venous aetiology in 86.1% of cases and of mixed aetiology in 13.9% of cases. Their median duration was 68.5 days and they were recurrent in 65.4% of cases. Elastic compression stockings and bandages were already worn by respectively by 50.8% and 32.3% of patients. Bandages were worn irregularly by 36.8% of the patients and "never" or "rarely" applied before getting up in the morning in 68.4% of the cases.
