New silicone dressing is multipurpose

Molnlycke Health Care Inc., (Newtown, Pa) announced the addition of Mepilex® Lite to their Tendra® line of wound dressings featuring Safetac® soft silicone technology. The conformable thin foam dressing absorbs exudate and helps maintain a moist wound environment. The soft silicone layer seals around the wound edges to deter exudate leakage onto the surrounding skin and minimizes the risk for maceration.

The dressing may be used as a primary dressing for the management of a wide range of non- to low-exuding wounds such as radiation related skin reactions, lower extremity ulcers, partial-thickness burns, and Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).
