Lantiseptic Division, Summit Industries - Booth 808
In less than 15 years, Lantiseptic skin care products have become one of the leading lines of skin care products used in nursing homes throughout the country. The combination of lanolin and a unique formula creates an environment that helps prevent skin breakdown and effectively treats damaged skin. The line consists of Lantiseptic Skin Protectant, Lantiseptic Therapeutic Cream, and Lantiseptic All Body Wash. The lanolin-rich formulas provide proven relief as demonstrated by a recently completed clinical study. (For the full article, see Hunter et al, Journal of WOCN, 2003;30(5):250-258 or see Clinical Study at www.lantiseptic.com.)
Statistically significant results were realized by nursing home patients who used the All Body Wash and Lantiseptic Skin Protectant for pressure ulcers stage I and II. The versatility of the Skin Protectant was demonstrated by reduced incidence of skin tears, perineal dermatitis, and pressure ulcers for the entire patient population during the time of study.

Mölnlycke Health Care - Booth 101
A main concern in wound healing is trauma and pain during dressing changes.
Many current dressings claim nonadherence but may stick to the wound bed, traumatize and lift fragile cells, cause pain on removal, extend healing time, and lead to increased cost-in-use. Mölnlycke Health Care's Tendra® product line featuring Safetac® soft silicone coating technology addresses this concern.
Safetac is a patented soft silicone dressing technology designed specifically for wound management dressings. The hydrophobic nature of the soft silicone layer provides selective micro-adherence to dry skin but will not stick to a moist wound bed. Dressings with Safetac minimize the risk of traumatizing the wound bed and surrounding skin upon removal. This means undisturbed wound healing, less risk of periwound maceration and less pain for the patient.
We are pleased to introduce Mepilex® Transfer soft silicone exudate transfer dressing to our Tendra soft silicone product line – Mepitel®, Mepilex®, Mepilex® Border, and Mepiform®.
Ross Products - Booth 300
Ross Products offers a wide variety of nutritional/pharmaceutical products for wound care patients. Ross introduces Collagenase Santyl®, the natural choice for continuous wound debridement. Collagenase Santyl selectively debrides necrotic tissue without harming fragile new tissue, and can be used comfortably throughout the healing process to maintain a clean wound bed and contribute to new tissue formation.
Oxandrin® (oxandrolone) is the only FDA-approved anabolic agent currently indicated as adjunctive therapy for involuntary weight loss. Oxandrin builds lean body mass as it increases body weight. With demonstrated safety/tolerability and minimal androgenic side effects, Oxandrin achieves successful weight gain in patients with chronic wounds.
To overcome weight loss from catabolism, Ross introduces Juven, a medical food that helps build lean body mass. Juven Therapeutic Nutrition Drink Mix, a patented blend of arginine, glutamine, and hydroxy-methylbutyrate (HMB), enhances wound repair. Juven joins the family of Perative® and NutriFocus®, specific to wound management.

Vasamed - Booth 106
The LaserDopp® PV2000 has combined into one compact device the principles of air plethysmography and laser Doppler technology. This combination produced an instrument capable of measuring the skin perfusion pressure (SPP) on patients suffering from chronic ischemia and in individuals with diabetic ulcers in their extremities.
Specially designed cuffs containing a laser Doppler sensor can be wrapped around the afflicted area. Within minutes, the PV2000 will display a graph, showing the amount of SPP at the site tested. This measurement is reported in mm Hg and can be used to determine the course of action in dealing with the wound.
The LaserDopp® obtains information directly from the capillary beds that lie underneath the surface of the skin where tissue breakdown occurs. The result is a quick, reliable test that can be performed irrespective of the medical calcification so commonly found in diabetic patients.
The specially designed cuffs allow the test to be performed on the toes, plantar, ankles, and below and above the knees. The instrument requires no calibrations, membranes, or added solutions.
