Augustine Medical, Inc. - Booth 420

Augustine Medical's Warm-Up® wound therapy system is the only wound care system that provides noncontact normothermic wound therapy for unresolved wounds such as pressure, diabetic, and venous ulcers.

The Warm-Up system uses warmth to help the body heal itself by increasing blood flow to the wound. Safe, precise warmth is delivered through an infrared-warming card, which is slid into a noncontact wound cover. The noncontact cover protects the healthy, new skin and maintains warmth and humidity while absorbing excess exudate.

Patients who use Warm-Up therapy are realizing dramatic results in wound closure. Wounds that have not closed in months, or even years, of traditional treatments are improving in a matter of weeks. Augustine Medical currently offers seven wound cover styles, including a sacral wound cover and a cover that is designed for bony prominences such as the heel, malleolus, or chin.

Bertek (Dow Hickam) Pharmaceuticals - Booth 102

As Dow Hickam Pharmaceuticals, Bertek Pharmaceuticals, Inc., for more than 35 years, has been an innovator in the wound care marketplace with both prescription and nonprescription products. HYDROCOL is a sterile, occlusive hydrocolloid wound dressing with unique properties designed to optimize moisture management and decrease the frequency of dressing changes.    Flexzan is a sterile, ultrathin, highly flexible, breathable, semi-occlusive, polyurethane foam, adhesive dressing, which protects wounds from exogenous contamination and trauma while maintaining an environment conducive to optimal wound healing. Flexderm is a sterile hydrogel polymer sheet dressing that protects a wound against dehydration and exogenous contamination while providing a moist environment conducive to optimal wound healing.

GRANULEX and PRODERM are topical sprays that stimulate capillary beds to help promote the healing process. BIOBRANE is a biosynthetic dressing indicated for burn wounds and donor sites. SULFAMYLON CREAM is a topical antimicrobial indicated for adjunctive therapy of patients with second- and third-degree burns.

Cook® Wound/Ostomy/Continence has a 20-year history of innovation and commitment to ostomates and continence-related issues. Our latest innovation, Oasis® Wound Dressing, is a revolutionary new technology for wound management.

Oasis® is used for the management of partial- and full-thickness skin loss injury such as pressure and chronic vascular ulcers, diabetic ulcers, second-degree burns, abrasions, and autograph donor sites. The dry sheets come in 7-, 10-, and 20-cm lengths and in fenestrated, nonfenestrated, or meshed configurations.

DM Systems - Booth 106

DM Systems, makers of original Heelift® and Heelift® Smooth Suspension Boots, introduces Elbowlift™ suspension pad for the prevention of elbow discomfort and injuries. Elbowlift™ offers exceptional protection against olecranon bursitis, ulnar neuritis, pressure pain, pressure ulcers, and skin injury.

Elbowlift™ works in a manner similar to Heelift® Suspension Boot. Elevating and cushioning the elbow in smooth, protective foam, Elbowlift™ protects the olecranon and olecranon bursa from friction burns and contusions by eliminating pressure to the sensitive elbow areas. Ideal for people who are bedridden or confined to a wheelchair, Elbowlift™ makes weight shifts less painful.

Made from soft, firm, medical grade foam with smooth surfaces, Elbowlift™ has an adjustable, well padded hook-and-loop strap which wraps around the outside to keep Elbowlift™ in place. Two soft foam columns maintain elbow position over the centering hole. The smooth, low-friction backing provides improved patient movement. Because one size fits all, there is no guesswork in choosing the correct size for patient fit.

Elbowlift™ joins the growing line of wound care and orthopedic rehab products available from DM Systems, including AnkleTough®, CastWalker®, and CastWedge™, as well as original Heelift® and Heelift® Smooth.

Vasamedics, LLC - Booth 120

The LaserDopp®PV2000 has combined into one compact device the principles of air plethysmography and laser Doppler technology. This combination produced an instrument capable of measuring the skin perfusion pressure (SPP) on patients suffering from chronic ischemia and in individuals with diabetic ulcers in their extremities.

Specially designed cuffs containing a laser Doppler sensor can be wrapped around the afflicted area. Within minutes, the PV2000 will display a graph, showing the amount of SPP at the site tested. This measurement is reported in mm Hg and can be used to determine the course of action in dealing with the wound.

The LaserDopp® obtains information directly from the capillary beds that lie underneath the surface of the skin where tissue breakdown occurs. The result is a quick, reliable test that can be performed irrespective of the medical calcification so commonly found in diabetic patients.

The specially designed cuffs allow the test to be performed on the toes, plantar, ankles, and below and above the knees. The instrument requires no calibrations, membranes, or added solutions.
