AAWC Update

 Would you like to speak at conferences, regional meetings, or other engagements? The AAWC is now offering a program for AAWC members. The AAWC Speakers Bureau provides a means to promote your availability for discussions and presentations regarding quality wound prevention and care. This is an opportunity for you to get your name out there.

  To become involved with the Speaker Bureau program, you must be a member in good standing, complete an application, and follow the full terms and conditions of the program.     • Applicant must submit a list of preferred wound treatment topics for presentation.     • Applicant must be willing to attend an AAWC-sponsored speaker training program if requested.
    • Speaker will submit programs and presentations for review to the program sponsor if requested.
    • Speaker will be willing to have the audience complete evaluation forms on their presentations
  
  • Speaker will present high quality, evidence-based PowerPoint or comparable software design presentations (eg, Prezi).
  
  • Speaker will provide handouts of the presentations when requested by the sponsor.

  Wound care glossary. The AAWC Wound Care Glossary is now available. Members can log into our Members-Only area at www.aawconline.org to view it first. The glossary was our gift to members this past holiday. With more than 300 words, this glossary will be sure to keep us all on the same page when talking about wounds and treatment options. Nonmembers will have access in the future.

AAWC Offers 25% off Clinician Membership Dues Through April 30

  In celebration of the SAWC’s 25th Anniversary in Atlanta, April 19–22, the AAWC is offering clinician members a 25% discount on membership dues. Join or renew before April 30 to take advantage of the savings. This promotion ends May 1. If your AAWC membership doesn’t expire before May and you’re wondering how this limited-time discount on dues can apply to you, simply renew your AAWC membership early, and we’ll add an additional whole year of discounts and benefits to your existing membership. The new dues rate is $108.75 instead of $145.00. This limited-time, clinician price is the lowest in more than 5 years!

  To clarify: Attendance to the SAWC Spring or SAWC Fall conference is NOT mandatory to receive your AAWC Clinician Dues discount of 25%. However, be sure to join or renew before May 1. Joining or renewing is easy. Just go to www.aawconline.org and click “join/renew.”

Win Free 2013 SAWC Registration!

  If you are an AAWC Member when you register for SAWC Spring in Atlanta, and you are the 25th, 50th, 75th (and so on) AAWC Member registrant, you will be placed into a drawing for a free SAWC 2013 registration. This free registration is good for either the 2013 spring or fall meeting, and it is transferable. The winner will be announced in May 2012.
