Product: Cuticell® Contact
Company: BSN medical
Website: BSN medical.us
Cuticell® Contact is a highly flexible, atraumatic, single-sided adherence silicone wound contact layer that has a perforated transparent structure and is highly conformable. This makes Cuticell® Contact an effective wound dressing for advanced wound management. It is indicated for use on cuts, abrasions, burns, chronic wounds (with and without under compression), lacerations, blisters, skin lesions, and radiation treatment where it is appropriate for skin protection.
Cuticell® Contact can be used in combination with antiseptics and is suitable for very sensitive and fragile skin. It can remain in place up to 14 days protecting the wound. Exudate can easily pass through the perforations with minimal risk of tissue ingrowth. Because the adhesive is only on the contact side, secondary dressings can be changed easily without causing trauma to the wound. Users have been impressed by its longevity and cost-effectiveness, atraumatic dressing changes, nonadherence to gloves, minimized risk of maceration, easy wound inspection, flexibility and conformability, and easy application, improving patient compliance.
Product: Cutimed® Siltec Plus*
Company: BSN medical
Website: www.BSNmedical.us
Cutimed® Siltec Plus is a super-absorbent silicone foam dressing designed to meet the moisture balance challenge. Superior fluid management is achieved via Lift & Lock technology: super-absorbent particles lock exudate away from the wound for higher absorption and retention, and the smart pore structure allows vertical absorption, reducing risk of maceration. The dressing adapts to various exudate levels through the combination of unique layers that allow high viscous exudate to pass through for absorption within the foam structure and be wicked away from the wound and surrounding skin. The silicone wound contact layer protects surrounding skin and allows pain-free, atraumatic dressing changes and ensures gentle adherence to periwound skin without adhesion to the wound. The highly breathable film facilitates a dynamic moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR). The foam core is layered with super-absorbent particles that ensure reliable absorption and fluid retention, even under compression.
Cutimed® Siltec Plus is indicated for venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, arterial ulcers, and skin grafts.
Product: Cutimed® Siltec Sorbact®*
Company: BSN medical
Website: www.BSNmedical.us
Cutimed® Siltec Sorbact® is an innovative combination of reliable absorption and effective infection management. The super-absorbent particles within the foam layer effectively adjust to absorb and retain moderate to high viscous exudate, even under compression. DACC Technology binds versus kills bacteria and renders them inert unlike other silver and antimicrobials, which allows for natural wound healing. The smart pore structure and super-absorbers ensure vertical absorption of exudate, reducing the risk of maceration. The dynamic MVTR allows fluid to transpire while maintaining a moisture balance.
Product: Cutimed Sorbact® Hydroactive B*
Company: BSN medical
Website: www.BSNmedical.us
Cutimed Siltec Sorbact® is an innovative hydropolymer gel dressing that provides absorbency with balanced hydration. The dressing binds and inactivates bacteria with DACC Technology as the wound contact layer; the hydropolymer gel matrix helps maintain a moist wound environment and stimulates autolytic debridement of fibrin and necrotic tissue, making it ideal for absorption of thin exudate. Combined, these features promote autolytic debridement, reduce the bacterial load, and offer fast, effective wound healing.
Product: Debrisoft®
Company: Lohmann & Rauscher
Website: www.lohmann-rauscher.com
Debrisoft® is a unique monofilament fiber technology for gentle and rapid debridement and wound bed preparation. It provides rapid, virtually painless debridement, with visible results in 2–4 minutes. The monofilament pad consists of 18 million beveled fiber tips, which when fully hydrated and applied to the wound in a circular motion with moderate pressure, gently loosen nonviable material but spare granulation and epithelial tissue. This process is safe for the patient and easy to use for the clinician.
Intended for use in wound bed preparation, Debrisoft® is a highly effective debridement method in the treatment of superficial wounds and the surrounding skin, including diabetic foot ulcers, leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, postoperative wounds, sloughy wounds, wounds containing soft necrotic issue, hyperkeratosis, removal of exudate and cellular debris, removal of dressing and product residue, and for healing by secondary intention.
Debrisoft® is a new and innovative way to approach debridement and wound bed preparation. Come join the debridement revolution because every wound deserves a clean start.
Product: FastCast OLS System
Company: Hollister
Website: www.hollister.com
Hollister’s FastCast OLS System is an off-loading and wound management convenience kit that provides a VIP treatment for patients with diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). The November 2014 Off-loading Consensus Guidelines state vascular management (V), infection management and prevention (I), and pressure relief (P) are essential to DFU healing. The FastCast OLS system was designed to address key aspects of VIPs.
The FastCast OLS System includes a compression sock layer that provides low-level compression to help manage edema and a padded sock layer for patient comfort. The 2 sock layers aid in shear reduction and help reduce the risk of skin maceration by wicking moisture into the socks and away from the patient’s skin. To address infection management and prevention, the Hydrofera Blue Ready foam (cover dressing) offers broad-spectrum antibacterial activity to help manage and prevent infection; plus, the Endoform dermal template, as a primary dressing, provides a native extracellular matrix and matrix metalloproteinase reduction to aid in wound closure. Pressure relief is provided by the clamshell cast and ToeBoggan footplate. The curved end of the ToeBoggan footplate protects the sensitive toe area and helps eliminate toe impingement, compression, and ischemia secondary to pressure, and it can be custom-cut to provide offloading. The clamshell cast is comprised of 7-layer fiberglass construction for durability and features an open-toe as opposed to a closed-toe design for air circulation to assist in moisture management that may help reduce the risk of fungal infection, dermatitis, and maceration. The cast can be removed using the bivalve removal technique, the standard cast-removal method. The cast roll provides additional strength and structural support, and the CAM Boot is extra wide for foot stability. There is no wait to ambulate; the patient can immediately walk once the CAM boot is in place.
