This fun-filled event will include a unique, live auction as well as light food and beverages. Complete details will be announced to attendees at the SAWC Opening Ceremony on May 1. The AAWC also will be hosting a silent auction, which will begin in the AAWC Action Room, where you can view the silent auction items and place your bids on May 2 and 3. The silent auction will conclude at the end of the AAWC Celebration on the evening of May 3, where winning silent bidders will be announced. Be sure to pick up your complimentary educational brochure samples and other “goodies” available only at the AAWC booth. Also, please consider contributing to the AAWC in the following ways: 1) Support a “team” (learn more onsite at SAWC). 2) Purchase preferred seating for the AAWC Celebration: Membership Meeting and Auction. 3) Contribute to our chocolate bar fundraiser for a chance to win “the golden ticket,” which will provide three lucky winners a prize valued at $115! The previously described opportunities benefit the AAWC Scholarship Program. 4) Support the Global Volunteers program by purchasing a support bracelet. This year’s bracelet is red, white, and blue to promote the launch of the US-based arm of the program. 5) Help fund our Wounds In Need (WIN) patient advocacy program and receive an attractive patient advocacy pin in return. Plus, recruit a member (register at the AAWC booth) and you and the person you recruit will be eligible to receive a free membership renewal.

Educational brochures available in Spanish

The AAWC Public Awareness Task Force has developed a series of evidence-based educational brochures: ABC’s of Skin and Wound Care, The Skin You’re In, Dress and Compress for Success, and Take the Pressure Off! All four pamphlets are now available in Spanish. Access the brochures at the AAWC website in “Professional Resources.” You may print and share them free of charge, or you can purchase quality reprints from the AAWC Online Store.

All brochures were created to help patients and their caregivers by providing critical skin and wound care prevention and treatment information in a nonclinical, easy-to-read format. The AAWC anticipates creating additional educational brochures over time.

The AAWC is the leader in interdisciplinary wound healing and tissue preservation. Be sure to Join AAWC on Facebook and LinkedIn. www.aawconline.org
