The Association is grateful to everyone who attended the Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC Spring) and visited the AAWC booth. Many participated in the AAWC’s fundraising activities; proceeds support the Scholarship Fund, Global Volunteers Program, and Patient Advocacy efforts. AAWC participates in EWMA 2015 in London
AAWC President Vickie R. Driver, MS, DPM, FACFAS and AAWC Secretary Barbara Bates-Jensen, PhD, RN, FAAN were pleased to present the session “AAWC, Your International Partner Presents: A Global View of Wound Care: Past, Present and Future” at the 25th conference of the European Wound Management Association, EWMA 2015, held May 13–15, 2015 in London, UK. The AAWC is grateful to AAWC Past President Robert J. Snyder, DPM, FACFAS, CWS for his preparation for the session.
Dr. Driver also represented the AAWC as a voting member of the EWMA Council. The AAWC looks forward to continued participation with its European sister society for many years to come.
AAWC Becomes a Sister and Supporting Society for WUWHS 2016
The World Union of Wound Healing Societies (WUWHS) is planning its Fifth Congress in Florence, Italy on September 25–29, 2016. The theme of the conference is: “One Vision, One Mission”. In the spirit of collaboration, the AAWC has become a proud Sister and Supporting Society. The Association looks forward to contributing to the Congress by sending 3 key leaders to present a multidisciplinary-focused session. The 2015 AAWC Wound Care Clinic Directory is available
The AAWC produces an annual directory with information on clinics and centers, private office facilities, hospitals and home health care organizations involved in the management of wounds. Valuable contact information is included, such as facility name, director/contact person, address, phone, fax, email, website, and type of clinic/center. Currently, the directory has 1,000+ listings and is available in both PDF and Excel formats. Many professionals use the directory as a networking guide to share wound care clinical expertise. The PDF version is provided free as a benefit of AAWC membership from the Members-only area of www.aawconline.org, and the Excel file is available in the AAWC Online Store for purchase. AAWC Scholarship Program continues through August 31
Scholarship funds are available for wound care teaching, learning, and travel. Members in good standing for 1 year can apply by visiting www.aawconline.org/scholarships. Consideration will be given to support events that may have already been paid for (such as a college course), as well as events that will occur in the near future.
