Call for Nominations for the 2015 AAWC Board of Directors
The AAWC Call for Nominations for the 2015–2017 term on the AAWC Board of Directors has commenced. Nominations will be accepted from October 6 through November 20, 2014. All active members received an official email on October 6 with complete information about how to nominate a qualified candidate (including self-nomination). Nine seats are open for the 2015–2017 term: Executive Committee (Secretary), Board Members (Industry [2], Nurse [2], Physical Therapist, Physician [2], Podiatric Physician, and Research).

The AAWC Speakers Bureau program provides a means to promote one’s availability for discussions and presentations on the subjects of quality wound prevention and care. Involvement with the Speaker Bureau program requires AAWC membership, completion of an application, and fulfillment of the terms and conditions of the program. Managing Wounds as a Team – An International Document
In collaboration with the European Wound Management Association and the Australian Wound Management Association, the AAWC is pleased to note this unprecedented joint manuscript on the multidisciplinary approach to wound care was created this year and is available at www.journalofwoundcare/resources.
Education for the Generalist
The AAWC has developed an access portal for accredited wound care education that is intended to help new wound care practitioners and nonwound care specialists (or generalists) learn the most current, evidence-based practices in wound care. New at SAWC Spring: the AAWC Clinical Practice Track
The AAWC’s Clinical Practice Track will launch at SAWC Spring 2015 in San Antonio, TX. The track will provide evidence-based, patient-centered, multidisciplinary, practical information clinicians will easily be able to share with decision makers and colleagues after the conference. This track will cover not only what to do to advance wound care as a professional practice and career, but also will empower the learner with the knowledge about how to do it.
