AAWC Partners with Native Nation Events, LLC
In Native America, there is a great deal of healthcare disparity, reflected in higher rates of wound-related complications, amputations, and diabetes. One discouraging example is that 60% of Native Americans die within 2 years of an amputation due to inadequately treated wounds. The AAWC recently entered into an agreement with Native Nation Events, LLC, which provides unique, educational networking forums on current topics for Tribal decision makers and professionals. The AAWC understands the value of these conferences, particularly with regard to the Native American Wound Care Conference, held this year October 8–9, 2012. This year’s conference theme was “Implementing a Wound Care Program”.
The AAWC is proud of its partnership with Native Nation Events. The partnership will enable the AAWC to establish relationships between Tribal Representatives and healthcare professionals to help educate the Native Nations on the most current, advanced, evidence-based wound care practices. The partnership also offers AAWC members a discount to attend the Native American Wound Care Conference.
