AAWC Annual Report

The 2016 AAWC Annual Report is scheduled for release this summer. The volunteer chairs of AAWC committees and task forces will report on progress and activities. The AAWC Annual Report will be emailed to members and will be available on the home page of the AAWC website at https://aawconline.org/ at the end of August. owm_aawc

Your involvement on committees is welcome; the only requirements are a current AAWC membership and a desire to help with a particular project. Learn about the many programs and get on board to help advance the care of people with and at risk for wounds. 

AAWC Patient/Caregiver Blog

The Association has a strong commitment to the public as evidenced by the wealth of current wound care education provided on the Patient/Caregiver Resource Center of the website. AAWC Presents an “International Partner” Session at WUWHS

The 5th World Union of Wound Healing Societies (WUWHS) is scheduled for September 25–29, 2016 in Florence, Italy. In the spirit of collaboration, AAWC is a proud Sister and Supporting Society. On September 25, the AAWC will present: “The Multidisciplinary Approach to Wound Care and Organizational Activities to Advance Wound Care Practice in the USA and the World.”

Presentations include Vickie R. Driver, MS, DPM, FACFAS, and AAWC Past President speaking on Endpoints and Clinical Research: A Global Conundrum; Barbara M. Bates-Jensen PhD, RN, FAAN, and AAWC Secretary speaking on Developing International Consolidated Guidelines; and Gregory Bohn, MD, FACS, ABPM/UHM, FACHM, MAPWCA, and AAWC President speaking on Organizational Aspects of Wound Center Success.

SAWC Fall 

SAWC Fall is October 7–9 in Las Vegas. The AAWC invites you to join Dr. Bohn at SAWC Fall for his first AAWC Membership Meeting as our new President. All SAWC attendees are invited to attend the meeting Saturday, October 8 at 8 a.m. to learn about the Association’s direction. Before registering, become an AAWC member to receive the SAWC discount. These savings can more than cover the annual membership dues!
