World travel with the AAWC Global Volunteers
The AAWC Global Volunteers is a sought-after membership program. It is designed to bring the basic science of wound care to developing countries. A strategic partnership with Health Volunteers Overseas (HVO) offers AAWC members the opportunity to teach wound management around the globe. Qualified volunteers are health care professionals who are involved in providing advanced, evidence-based wound care (including edema/lymphedema management) and are working with wounds in clinical practice, academia, and wound research settings.
Current sites include HVO Wound and Lymphedema Management Programs in Cambodia, India, and Haiti. Funding is available from the AAWC to support volunteer travel to these locations. Please inquire at www.hvousa.org about travel grants specifically for AAWC members who plan to travel as a part of this program. If you are not an AAWC member and want to travel as part of the AAWC Global Volunteers program, please join the AAWC today: https://aawconline.memberclicks.net.
