A New Option for Hemodynamic Assessment
08/27/2015
In the September issue of Vascular Disease Management, Drs. Koleilat and Gray present an article on the utilization of fractional flow reserve (FFR) to assess the hemodynamic significance of lesions in the peripheral arterial system. Instead of using vasoactive drugs, they create a hyperemic state by external cuff compression, resulting in subsequent hyperemia during reperfusion. Here Vascular Disease Management clinical editor Craig Walker, MD, discusses the benefits of using FFR in this application.
