A Live Case of Right Lower Extremity Chronic Total Occlusion Crossing From NCVH 2013
03/20/2014
At the New Cardiovascular Horizons meeting in 2013, Carlos Mena, MD, presented a live case from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, of a 70-year-old patient with claudication and rest pain in the right lower extremity. In this video, Dr. Mena crosses the SFA CTO with the Viance crossing device (Covidien). As evidenced in this case, crossing the distal calcific cap of the occlusion can be a challenge in these procedures.
