Early surgical decompression is imperative in the treatment of thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS). Angioplasty followed by stenting should be absolutely avoided. In this case, follow-up venogram 6 months after the initial presentation showed a patent subclavian vein, which affirmed the initial clinical suspicion for the TOS contributing to his symptoms.
