The Voltaren® Arthritis Pain Gel formulation is an emulgel, a non-greasy formulation that combines a gel and cream for topical application. It is specially designed to penetrate deep through the skin at the site of pain to deliver powerful arthritis pain relief.
Do not use if you have ever had an allergic reaction to any other pain reliever or fever reducer. This product has not been shown to work for strains, sprains, bruises, or sports injuries. Do not use right before or after heart surgery, on more than 2 body areas at the same time, or in the eyes, nose or mouth.
The only adverse reactions that occurred in >1% of patients with greater frequency with Voltaren® Arthritis Pain gel OTC vs placebo were application-site reactions (Voltaren® Gel 7%, placebo 2%).1,2 See Voltaren® Arthritis Pain gel OTC Drug Facts for NSAID class warnings. Allergy alert: diclofenac may cause a severe allergic reaction, especially in people allergic to aspirin. Liver warning: this product contains diclofenac, liver damage may occur if you apply more or for a longer time than directed, or when using other drugs containing diclofenac. Stomach bleeding warning: this product contains an NSAID, which may cause severe stomach bleeding. Heart attack and stroke warning: NSAIDs, except aspiring, increase the risk of heart attack, heart failure, and stroke.

Patients should use it 4 times a day, every day
• Do not use on more than 2 body areas at the same time
• After 21 days, patients should consult a physician before further use
• The dosing card should always be used to measure a dose
• For each lower body area (foot, ankle, or knee) squeeze out 4.5 inches (4 grams)
