HMP Global’s IO Learning Welcomes Dr Steven Yevich as Editor-in-Chief

MalverN Pa, (September 21, 2021) – HMP Global’s IO Learning today announced that Steven Yevich, MD, MPH, has been named Editor-in-Chief. In this role, Dr. Yevich will lead all editorial efforts for the educational forum that provides interventional oncologists with research articles, clinical insights, and interviews with key leaders in the rapidly expanding field of IO, and serves as the official news source of the Symposium on Clinical Interventional Oncology (CIO).

As Associate Professor in the Department of Interventional Radiology and Division of Diagnostic Imaging at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, Dr. Yevich conducts research regarding the application of new technology to expand patient-centric minimally invasive therapies in cancer care, particularly in the area of image-guided therapies for bone and lung cancer. He serves as the Patient Safety and Quality Officer and Clinical Director for the Department of Interventional Radiology, a high-volume, specialized, multi-location, clinical department of approximately 150 healthcare employees. In addition, he served on the Faculty Senate, Cancer Network, Interventional Radiology education selection committee, and various multidisciplinary institutional committees. To date, Dr. Yevich has authored or co-authored over 50 publications and has more than 75 presentations at national or international conferences and institutions.

“Dr. Yevich is a prolific researcher, active interventional oncologist, and educator,” said CIO Course Director Ripal T. Gandhi, MD, FSIR, FSVM, Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute. “He has a busy interventional oncology practice, is sought after for unique and innovative minimally invasive interventions for cancer, and research interests focusing on minimally invasive treatments for musculoskeletal and pulmonary malignancies. Dr. Yevich has significant writing and editing experience, and he has presented his research both here and abroad. Under his direction and leadership, IO Learning will continue to be a leading source of education in interventional oncology, with an emphasis on practical aspects of patient care, clinical decision making, and techniques.”

Dr. Yevich received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, and holds an International Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance from Fordham University in New York, New York. He subsequently obtained a medical doctorate from Tulane School of Medicine, New Orleans, Louisiana, and a Master of Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts.

Outside of his institutional commitments, Dr. Yevich is an active member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, the Society of Interventional Oncology, the Cardiovascular & Interventional Radiology Society of Europe, the Radiology Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, and the American Medical Association.
