Stephen B. Hanauer, MD, Named Master of American College of Gastroenterology

Stephen B. Hanauer, the Clifford Joseph Barborka Professor of Medicine and the medical director of the Digestive Disease Center at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, and Section Editor for Inflammatory Bowel Disease for our own Gastroenterology Learning Network, was named a Master of the American College of Gastroenterology at the ACG 2020 Virtual Clinical Meeting and Postgraduate Course.

Dr Hanauer has served as chair of the International Organization for Inflammatory Bowel Disease, secretary-elect of the American College of Gastroenterology, and as a member of the GI Specialty Board of Internal Medicine, the American College of Physicians, and American Gastroenterology Association. He previously served as chair of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Gastrointestinal Drugs Advisory Committee, where he authored the FDA’s “Guidelines for Clinical Evaluation of Drugs for Patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease.”

We congratulate Dr Hanauer on this very well deserved honor.
