Broadstep Behavioral Health Expands Midwest Presence with Latest Deal

Tom Valentino, Senior Editor

Broadstep Behavioral Health, a provider of services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and severe persistent mental illness, announced this week that it has acquired the residential and support programs of Bethesda Lutheran Communities (BLC) in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.

The deal continues the growth of Broadstep’s residential service offerings in the Midwest, as the company announced in December that it had acquired Good Hope Manor in Wisconsin.

BLC provides I/DD services and support through community-based homes, day programs, at-home life skills development, job placement and behavioral support.

Founded in Wisconsin in 1972, Broadstep, a portfolio company of Bain Capital’s Double Impact fund that now is based out of North Carolina, operates programs for children and adults with I/DD, mental illness and co-occurring disorders in seven states.
