Beacon brings mental healthcare to retail locations

Beacon Health Options on Monday announced its first foray into the provider services market with the launch of Beacon Care Services, which will provide outpatient mental health therapy in locations such as retail stores. The first practice is located at a Walmart store in Carrollton, Texas. Beacon Care Services practices will be staffed by at least one clinician who can provide care for common mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety and stress, grief, and relationship issues. “We chose a retail setting for the first practice because it offers the convenience of a local neighborhood location that is close by and easy to get to, and our evening hours accommodate our patients’ schedules,” Beacon president and CEO Russell C. Petrella, PhD, said in a news release.
