The intent is that grant will fund direct costs of preliminary research on a project in the burn wound infection field that can then be leveraged for higher-level funding.
The 1st annual Chronic Wound Infection Research Grant is open to applicants following the same criteria, and the $15,000 one-year grant will fund direct costs of “innovative research in the area of topical treatment or prevention of chronic wound infections.”
Finally, the 1st annual Young Researcher Infection Visiting Fellowships include 5 grants of $2,000 each to students or residents visiting a nationally recognized wound care center for the purpose of “wound healing research as it pertains to infection.” These grants are intended to help build an understanding of research in wound healing and infection space and also create opportunities for networking with wound care experts. Applicants must be working toward MD, PhD, or PT degree and meet all other criteria outlined by the Wound Healing Foundation.
