Targeted Nutrition Therapy to Support Wound Healing
The Wound Care Learning Network had the opportunity to interview Mortiza Molina, RDN, who spoke at SAWC Spring 2021. Molina’s session, Targeted Nutrition Therapy to Support Wound Healing, provided insight from the perspectives of both a clinician and registered dietitian.
What is the main takeaway of your presentation?
Nutrition screening is an essential part of assessing the patient’s overall health. Providing nutrition support and catered nutrition interventions to patients who are at risk or already have pre-existing wounds will aid in optimizing their wound healing progress.
If attendees missed your session during the conference, they can watch it OnDemand. Why should they watch your session?
If you missed the live event, it is strongly recommended that you view the nutrition series, as it may provide essential information that can be applied at your practice to further help prevent or improve the wound healing process of your patients. The nutrition series with Dr. David G. Armstrong and Maritza Molina, RDN, review essential nutrition related markers, tools, and nutrition guidelines that are essential when working with patients who are at risk of wound development or already have pre-existing wounds that need optimization.
