In this issue of Vascular Disease Management, Dr. Sitaram Barath and his colleagues report a series of 6 patients presenting with mesenteric ischemia that were successfully treated with endovascular intervention. I believe that mesenteric ischemia is profoundly underdiagnosed and therefore profoundly undertreated. Endovascular therapy has been shown to be an effective option with less morbidity than surgery in these individuals. I would like to hear from others about their perspective on chronic gut ischemia; send your comments to me via our managing editor at claufenberg@hmpglobal.com.
