Venous Disease: Dr. Erin Murphy Named New Section Editor of Vascular Disease Management
March 7, 2022—Erin Murphy, MD, FACS, has been named section editor for the Venous Disease Section of Vascular Disease Management. Dr. Murphy is a vascular surgeon with Sanger Heart and Vascular, a part of Atrium Health in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she serves as the Director of the Venous and Lymphatic Institute.
Dr. Murphy is an internationally renowned venous surgeon, with expertise in pelvic venous disorders, pelvic venous imaging, and the full breadth of lower extremity venous disorders. She specializes in the treatment of post-thrombotic iliac and IVC occlusive disease. Dedicated to the advancement of the venous field, Dr. Murphy has extensive research experience and has authored over 50 medical journal articles, book chapters, and editorials. She routinely presents and teaches at both national and international conferences. Dr. Murphy has served as the co-global principal investigator for the ABRE IDE clinical trial and continues to actively participate in other important venous clinical trials.
