Aortic Interventions: Dr. Joseph V. Lombardi Named New Section Editor of Vascular Disease Management
October 21, 2021—Joseph V. Lombardi, MD, FACS, has been named section editor for the Aortic Interventions Section of Vascular Disease Management. Dr. Lombardi is the Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and Professor of Surgery at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in Camden, N.J., Director of the Cooper Aortic Center, and Program Director for the Vascular and Endovascular Residency Program.
Dr. Lombardi is an internationally renowned aortic surgeon, treating all forms of vascular disease, with expertise in minimally invasive endovascular therapy. He specializes in complex open and minimally invasive aortic reconstructions with extensive experience in the treatment of aortic dissection. Dr. Lombardi has served as the global principal investigator for the STABLE clinical trials on the treatment of type B aortic dissection and recently authored the SVS/STS joint reporting standards for type B aortic dissection. Authoring over 125 publications, mostly focused on aortic pathology, Dr. Lombardi continues to advance the field of aortic surgery.
