BD Announces Lengths Up to 300mm on Lutonix 018 Drug Coated Balloon

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. (Mar. 5, 2020) – BD (Becton, Dickinson, and Company) introduced longer lengths to its LutonixTM 018 Drug Coated Balloon (DCB) portfolio. The new 300mm sizes received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of femoropopliteal lesions up to 300mm and are now commercially available. With the launch of this new length, LutonixTM 018 DCB is the longest drug coated balloon available today in the U.S.

LutonixTM 018 DCB, the only DCB available on an .018” platform in the U.S., offers lengths from 40-300mm and diameters from 4-7mm on both 100 and 130cm catheter lengths. The 300mm lengths are available on 4-6mm diameters.

The 300mm LutonixTM 018 DCB is the latest innovation by BD Peripheral Intervention. Since LutonixTM 035 DCB first received FDA approval in 2014 for femoropopliteal arteries, its portfolio has expanded to include an indication and sizes for dysfunctional AV fistulae, and an .018” guidewire platform.
