Leading Psychotherapy Conference Returns to Anaheim for the First Time Since 2017

HMP Global's 2023 Evolution of Psychotherapy conference is set to provide an enriching 5-day educational experience for psychotherapy and mental health care professionals. The event, occurring from December 12-17, marks its return to Anaheim, California, after a 6-year hiatus, and serves as the official meeting of the Milton H. Erickson Foundation.

Termed as a "golden opportunity for mental health professionals" and likened to "the Woodstock of psychotherapy," the conference boasts an esteemed faculty lineup of psychotherapy thought leaders from across the globe.

Jeff Zeig, PhD, Director of the Milton H. Erickson Foundation, expressed enthusiasm about the conference's return to Anaheim, stating, "the 2023 meeting will examine current challenges in mental health, the best practices and new approaches to therapy, and offer sessions that fit the needs of practicing clinicians. This is the most anticipated psychotherapy event of the year, and a great opportunity to learn from colleagues and the greatest minds in the field.”

With over 90 sessions led by more than 40 world-renowned speakers, the Evolution of Psychotherapy educational program encompasses multiple tracks, including clinical demonstrations, conversation hours, invited addresses, great conversation sessions, speeches, invited panels, in-depth workshops, keynotes, and 2 pre-conferences.

The pre-conference workshops on December 12, from 1-4 pm, include an Ethics session presented by Denise A. Beagley, MSC, offering an overview of national ethical standards for practitioners. Zeig will present a second pre-conference workshop on Masters of Psychotherapy, featuring video clips of master therapists such as Milton Erickson, Virginia Satir, James Masterson, and Salvador Minuchin.

Keynote speakers at this year's meeting include renowned experts such as John Gottman, PhD, and Julie Gottman, PhD; Temple Grandin, PhD; Rob Kapilow; Cloe Madanes, LIC, HDL; Christina Maslach, PhD; Donald Meichenbaum, PhD; Martin Seligman, PhD; Dan Siegel, MD; and David Whyte.

Attendees can earn over 125 continuing education credits, and access additional opportunities for career advancement through a career fair, professional headshots, networking, and book signings during Authors Hour in the Exhibit Hall.

The conference also offers 3 participation options: in-person only, on-demand only, or a combination through the Maximum Credit Package, with on-demand access available for 6 months starting January 2024.
