Surgical Scrub Recalled

Consolidated Chemical Inc is recalling 2 lots of Techni-Care Chloroxylenol 3%. According to the February 22, 2022, US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Enforcement Report, the recall stems from Current Good Manufacturing Practice violations.

The recall affects Techni-Care Chloroxylenol 3%, 4 oz (NDC 46706-222-01) and 8 oz (NDC 46706-222-02) bottles, Care-Tech Laboratories Inc, Saint Louis, Missouri, from lots 3217A and 3217B (Exp 6/23). The bottles were distributed throughout the United States.

Consolidated Chemical voluntarily initiated the recall January 10, 2023. The FDA designated the recall Class II on February 15, 2023. The use of a product under a Class II recall could cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, or a remote possibility of serious harm.

Techni-Care Chloroxylenol 3% is a topical antiseptic for professional degerming before and after surgical procedures.
