Mouthwash Recalled
Vi-Jon, LLC is voluntarily recalling 75,064 bottles of Equate Tartar Control Plus distributed throughout the United States due to a product complaint for milky blue appearance and consistency.
According to the June 1, 2022, US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Enforcement Report, upon further investigation by Vi-Jon, LLC the recalled lots were found to be out of specification for the 4 active ingredients.
The recall affects the following products, which were distributed by Wal-Mart Stores, Inc in Bentonville, Arkansas:
- Equate Tartar Control Plus (Eucalyptol .092%, Menthol .042%, Methyl salicylate .060%, Thymol .064%)
- Antiseptic Mouthrise Plus, Antigingivitis/Antiplaque, Blue Mint, 1.5 Liter (50.7 FL OZ) bottle, 72716, UPC 6 81131 14800 9 from lots 0559696, 0563041, (Exp. 02/24).[ES1]
The recall was initiated May 5, 2022. On May 27, 2022 the recall was deemed Class II by the FDA, communicating use of the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or a remote possibility of serious harm.
