Medical Gas Recalled

Family Medical Supply Inc is recalling 26,657 cylinders of compressed oxygen because of deviations from Current Good Manufacturing Practices, according to the November 22, 2023, US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Enforcement Report.

The recall affects oxygen, compressed, UN 1072, packaged in cylinders labeled as sizes C, D, E, H, M, and M6. The recall spans all product lots manufactured and distributed throughout the US between May 10, 2023, and October 31, 2023.

Family Medical Supply voluntarily initiated the recall November 9, 2023. On November 16, 2023, it was designated Class II by the FDA. The classification suggests that use of the affected product could cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences. A remote possibility of serious harm also exists.

Compressed oxygen is available with a prescription for medical applications.
