Hand Sanitizer Recalled Over Contaminants
Hand Sanitizer LLC is recalling hand sanitizer distributed by Hand Cleansing Gel, Lafayette, LA. According to the June 22, 2022, US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Enforcement Report, an FDA analysis found the product contains acetaldehyde and acetal above specification limits.
The recall affects Hand Sanitizer, Say Goodbye To Germs, alcohol antiseptic 80% topical nonsterile solution, in 12-ounce bottles (UPC 8 60003 62626 9), from batches 100620-128201, 100620-128202, 100620-128203, 100620-128204, 100620-128205, 100620-128206, 100620-128207, 100620-128208, 100620-128209, 100620-128210, 100620-128211, and 100620-128212. The firm did not provide distribution information for the product, the FDA reported.
Hand Sanitizer LLC voluntarily initiated the recall April 4, 2022. On June 14, 2022, the FDA designated the recall Class II. Products affected by Class II recalls may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences if used. While remote, a possibility of serious harm also exists.
