Narcotic Pain Reliever Recalled

Lake Erie Medical and Surgical Supply Inc. is voluntarily recalling 16 cartons of tramadol hydrochloride 50-mg tablets in 120-count bottles (NDC 55700-0412-01), according to the April 18, 2018, US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Enforcement Report. The bottles were distributed in Florida and Virginia by Quality Care Products and manufactured by CSPC Ouyi Pharm Co. Ltd.

The recall stems from an incorrect or missing lot number and/or expiration date on product labels, the FDA reported. The recall affects lot 116289, which has an expiration date of September 2020.

Lake Erie Medical and Surgical Supply initiated the recall March 19, 2018. On April 11, 2018, the FDA designated it Class III, signaling use of the product is not likely to cause harm.

Tramadol hydrochloride is a prescription opioid analgesic used to treat moderate to severe pain.
