Alcohol Dehydrogenase Inhibitor Shortage Ends
The US Food and Drug Administration has announced an end to the shortage of Fomepizole Injection, which is indicated as an antidote for ethylene glycol (such as antifreeze) or methanol poisoning. It can be used alone or in combination with hemodialysis, depending on patient circumstances. The drug works by catalyzing the initial steps in the metabolism of ethylene glycol and methanol to their other toxic metabolites (https://bit.ly/2miWDUj).
