What to Expect at the Sana Symposium
A message from Sana Symposium co-chairs, Andrew Penn, MS, PMHNP & Charles Raison, MD:
The Inaugural Sana Symposium, focusing on psychedelics education, will be held virtually from Friday, September 17 to Sunday, September 19, 2021. We are honored to have been asked to serve as co-chairs for the first year of this symposium and are pleased to share some of the upcoming highlights taking place.
Over the course of our 3-day meeting, we will be joined by 16 other clinicians, experts, and advocates for the use of psychedelic therapies to aid our patients in managing mental health disorders. Our current agenda encompasses 23 sessions that will span the topics of introducing psychedelics into a patient’s treatment plan, best practices, legal considerations, and so much more. These virtual sessions will consist of a presentation, followed by a live question and answer period with the presenter.
In addition to our presentations, we are pleased to announce the incorporation of the following live, small-group Table Talk discussions available for you to join:
Saturday, September 18
12:30-1:00 PM
“MDMA for PTSD: Research and Commercialization” with Rick Doblin, PhD
“Psychedelics and Wellness” with Saundra Jain, MA, PsyD, LPC, and Charles Raison, MD
Sunday, September 19
12:30-1:00 PM
“How to Discuss Psychedelics with Patients” with Lynn Marie Morski, MD, JD
“Ketamine Therapy in Out-Patient Psychiatry – Challenges and Opportunities” with Rakesh Jain, MD, MPH
