Emerging Areas of Research at NIDA

Nora Volkow, MD, director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), discusses a variety of developments from recent NIDA research, such as new models of telehealth that are less expensive and more sustainable, new formulations of medications, and transcranial magnetic stimulation for the treatment of depression and addiction. Volkow also covers research identifying molecules that can regulate reward centers in the brain that increase the likelihood of success for addiction treatment, and other long-term areas of focus for NIDA.
